NMCA Officers

Shanell Owen, MMC, President
Shanell Owen began her career with the City of Elko in
November 1989 and was appointed City Clerk/Treasurer in
July 2005. Shanell received her Master Municipal Clerk
accreditation in 2009 after completing Weber State University’s
Academy and in 2005 she received her Bachelor’s of Applied
Science Degree in Management in Technology from Great
Basin College.

Shanell is an active member of the community and currently serves as President
for the Committee Against Domestic Violence Board of Director’s. She also serves
on the Academic Board for Great Basin College’s Bachelor’s of Applied Science
Program. Shanell married her husband, Shane, in 1989 and they live in Elko with
their son, Nathan.
