Stephanie Kalasz
Stephanie Kalasz has been a member of IIMC and the Idaho City Clerks Treasurers and Finance Officers Association (ICCTFOA) since 1999 and has attended the IIMC National Conferences in Whistler, BC, Anaheim, and Atlanta in 2008.  In addition, she was present at the 2004 IIMC Region VIII Conference in Boise, ID and attends the annual ICCTFOA Conference each year since being appointed City Clerk. As a member of ICCTFOA, she has served as First Director and Second Director in Region 2; she is Co-Chair of the Awards Committee; and also serves on the Legislative and Mentoring Committees.

Stephanie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She has worked for the City of Moscow for 8+ years starting in a Secretary II position in March of 1999 and was promoted after four months to Administrative   Secretary/Deputy City Clerk. In 2003, she was appointed as City Clerk. Stephanie has a very diverse work background which includes working for the Political Science Department at the University of Washington. She is excited about continuing her education; enhancing her involvement; sharing her experience; and working with clerks from her Region and around the world as part of IIMC.

Monica Martinez Simmons, MMC
Monica Martinez Simmons is in her 30th year of public service with the City of Henderson. A proud native of Henderson, Nevada, Monica has experienced unprecedented growth in her community throughout her tenure. Monica served 20 years in the City Attorney’s Office and was appointed City Clerk in 1998 by the Mayor and City Council. As City Clerk, Monica is responsible for the administration of the City’s voter/election services, facilitation of the local legislative process, U.S. Passport Services Program, Public Records and Archive Program, and Lobby Information Services. Recently the City Clerk’s Office partnered with Clark County to provide marriage licensing services at City Hall.

Monica serves on the Board of Directors for IIMC, Kids Voting USA Greater Las Vegas, and HopeLink.  She is an active member of the Nevada League of Women Voters, Nevada Women’s History Project, and maintains her associate membership with the American Bar Association. Monica received her professional certification through Seattle University's Northwest Academy, and achieved her Master Municipal Clerk certification in 2008.

 Monica has established partnerships with the University of Nevada/Reno to implement the first accredited Municipal and County Clerks’ Institute of Nevada. She was appointed to the Nevada State Help America Vote Act Committee (HAVA), and has been recognized nationally for Henderson's Local Youth Vote program through the National Election Center. Monica remains committed to strengthening community relations through ongoing outreach programs and community partnerships, including the implementation of the first Vote Centers in Nevada and coordination of research and publication efforts for Henderson’s An American Journey, a pictorial and administrative history.
