Friday, May 21 and Saturday, May 22
Board of Directors Meeting – Grand Sierra Resort
The Board of Directors meet to conduct annual board business, receive
committee reports, and review annual conference updates.
Sunday, May 23
MCEF Walk – Grand Sierra Resort
Jog along the Truckee River and support the Municipal Clerk Education
Fund, then catch your breath as you enjoy refreshments around Grand
Sierra’s pool.
Opening Reception – National Automobile Museum
Conference guests will be greeted by the glamour of the red carpet and
paparazzi, followed by a tour of an indoor street display covering 12
decades of classic cars. In addition, Dixie Jazz, Oldies and Big Band
will be playing while delegates enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvre and cocktails.
Monday, May 24
Opening Ceremony – Grand Sierra Resort
Attendees will participate in the Opening Ceremony with an official
welcome by City of Reno Mayor Cashell, keynote speaker, and
entertainment.
Region I-XI Dinners – Area Favorites
Each of the 11 Regions are encouraged to attend dinner as a group this
evening. A list of local recommended fare will be provided to Region
Directors.
TUesday, May 25
International Program – Hosted by the City of Reno
International delegates will visit Reno City Hall to learn of Reno’s
best practices – Reno Direct and the Reno Citizens Institute will be
featured as well as Reno’s Redevelopment Discover It! Tour.
Wednesday, May 26
All-Conference Event – Virginia City
Attendees will be treated to BBQ in one of two historic sites – the
Piper’s Opera House or Delta Saloon, take a train ride as robbers board,
and listen to live country music on historic, shop-filled streets.
Thursday, May 27
Annual Banquet – Grand Sierra Resort & Casino
This event is an excellent ending to the week – say farewell to
colleagues while anticipating next year’s Nashville conference. Live
entertainment will be provided courtesy of the 2011 Nashville Host
Committee.
